Don't expect porcelain or typical pottery. It is not. UNESCO-protected and one of the most ancient pottery crafts, this bowl is hand-thrown out of edible black clay, painted with black clay, coated with resin from a Mediterranean resin tree and fired in low temperature to make it water resistant.
 
It feels like a little treasure and it should be treated as such. Hand wash it after each use. It is ok to keep in warming cabby with your favorite facial masque.
